HIPAA and Divorce

Can a list of prescriptions be used in a custody case....ex. is claiming wife to be unstable and lists medications for migranes and an antidepressant--is this in violation of HIPAA privacy laws?

No. HIPPA restricts the medical profession from disclosing confidential medical info with out a release.

What you described is very common in matrimonial and family law cases and is relevant.
