Legal Question in Family Law in New York
house
I was wondering if Im married but own my own house and lived in it for 33 years and my husband of 9 years lived in it and did some remodeling on it , if we get divorced do I get to keep the house or do I have to sell and split it with him?

The house would be subject to equitable distribution. That does not necessarily mean that you have to sell, it just means that your husband has rights to some of the equity (value) in the house.
