Legal Question in Family Law in New York

My husband and I went to court for full custudy, I only went the first. visit they gave him vistiation, after that I didnt show up but he did, we then moved in together for six months then we split up agian,he than went back to court for visitiation as he has told me but he has appeared in court and I havent. The kids live with me, I wasnt served with any court papers,what can they do without my presents in court?

If you are notified properly by being served with papers in the visitation/custody action and you fail to appear, yes the court can make rulings without you there. You should never not appear in court when served with papers, and if you feel uncomfortable appearing alone, you can certainly hire an attorney who can navigate you through the process effectively
