I need help. My husband left the home 4 months ago. (domestic violence situation). I had to get an order of protection. He verbally attacks me and intimadates me. When he left i decieded it was the best thing(i have three boys). He hasnt paid the mort. car payments, electric everything. i had to go to dss for food and such. He took the bank accts told me im not entitled to a penny. im a homemaker, everthing is in my husbands name. i filed for support on my own and custody. support was granted finally for 300 a week. i have recieved one check so far.custody has been arranged also. i didnt drop my protection order so we are going to trial. now my husbands family has said that they will make my life hell, since i didnt drop it.(my husband violated order also, by stealing my property). Since everything is in my husbands name can he take the car even though im making the payments and kick us out of the house? I really need to know what my rights are, Im being told that hes taking the car and i have to move. Also I have custody of my boys. This is the reason I never left my husband. we've been together for 16 yrs since high school and only married for three. I need advice please and what steps can i take fast?

You have to retain an attorney and immediately file for a pendente lite order. The order will direct him to not transfer or sell marital assets. The order will direct him to make payments to keep status quo until trial or judgment.
