husband left me and his newborn child 2 days after delivery
My husband left me and his newborn baby boy 2 days after i gave birth to him. he claims he does not want to be married any more and that he has to leave. meanwhile, i have to support my child and myself on one income now and find it to be impossible! i am on maternity leave now on the FMLA and do not know how much money i will even have coming. i am supposed to be out for 12 weeks and my husband knew this, but there is no way i can provide for my family now. because he just abondoned his family with no warning is there anything that i can do or legally recieve from him or the government to help me out in this terrible situation so i can still have the time that i need with my child for the 12 weeks? please help me, i have no idea what to do! :(

You can commence an actioin to receive child support and, quite possibly, spousal maitenance.
Let me know if I can be of help.

You should consult with an attorney as soon as possible and should consider filing a petition in family court for child and spousal support immediately, whether or not you plan to divorce your husband. If you decide to commence an action for divorce, you can request temporary support pending litigation. Feel free to call my office to discuss your case and how to go about addressing your current financial needs. I will not charge a fee for the initial consultation.
