Legal Question in Family Law in New York

My ex husband is not legally bound to my daughter but yet in the divorce decree they call him her step-dad. Does the title mean anything? She has stated that she doesn't like going over to visit him because of his new fianc�. Does she have to see him? Also, does he control whether I relocate with her because he keeps threatening to take me to court if I decide to move more than an hour away from him with her. I've consulted with three lawyers so far and none of them can give me a straight answer to any of these questions.

Please help!
