Legal Question in Family Law in New York

My husband & I were married 8/08 after being together for 4yrs. In June 09,we were having some issues & thought it would be better if my husband could move out temporarily. When I asked him to do so he tried to commit suicide the next day and was hospitalized for a pysch eval. After all of this my husband was diagnosed with being multiple personality diorder & bipolar. Can I file for an annulment based on his instability of his mental status & being lied to, since he was actually diagnosed this way back in 1999 after attemping suicide after a failed relationship. The mental cruelty that I subjected to since he doesn't take his medicine properly or at all is putting a toll on me & my health. Can I file for an annulment or do I have to do a divorce?

A very difficult question for this type of forum.

Although married for approximately 1 year, you were together for five years. You knew he was taking medicine for his mental well being. Therefore, I think it would be very difficult to annul the marriage. Although you may have grounds for a divorce, it is very difficult to determine the grounds in your question.
