Legal Question in Family Law in New York

My husband and I are planning to divorce and he wants to sell the house. We haven't filed any papers yet but he made an appointment with the realtor to come appraise the house. Can he legally do that if I don't consent to the appraisal (or is it even a legal issue) ?

He can certainly have an appraisal if he is an owner of the house. However, if the house is owned jointly he cannot sell it without your signature.
