Legal Question in Family Law in New York

My husband and I are in the process af getting a divorce....he is selling my car online with the words.. "DRIVEN BY OLDER CONFUSED WOMAN CHASING ADOLESENT WOODCHUX" "Woodchux" = someone who is not up to "HIS" standards. I have documentation referring to the word woodchux in an e-mail he snet me. How do I get him for defamation of character?? Please advise...Thanks

This will be under the heading of one of the many things you won't want to hear during the course of your divorce.

What your husband wrote is not defamatory. It's insulting, but it isn't even close to something on which a successful libel case could be brought. If you'd like the detailed analysis of why you can't win on this, I'd be happy to charge you my usual consultation fee, but it won't change the answer.
