Legal Question in Family Law in New York

What should I do?

When my husband told me he wanted a divorce, his lawyer and my lawyer agreed we should do a Separation Agreement...we agree on custody of children and splitting the house and assets 50/50 (we live in an equitable state), that was 4mos ago, my lawyer has sent the other lawyer two letters and getting no answers from the other lawyer and my lawyer doesnt call me if he doesnt get an answer...now i found out my husband filed for divorce a month ago and has all kinds of charges against me and since we live in ny...he says he gets everything and my lawyer is dragging his feet...What do i do?

Re: What should I do?

You should retain counsel in New York and deal with the complaint - and not be worried about statements by your ex. The good news: New York is also an equitable distribution state and allegations of misconduct ordinarily have no effect on the economics of a divorce.
