Legal Question in Family Law in New York

My soon too be husband is wanting to change his last name because he doesnt have his fathers name. is there a way to do this when we get married? Such as instead of taking each others last name we can both change it to what his fathers name is?

The short answer is yes. Furthermore, you may also change your name without getting married through a simple application filed with the Supreme Court.
