Legal Question in Family Law in New York

NEED HELP IMMEDIATELY! I am writing because my sister's ex husband owes her $36 thousand in back child support. The ex is now coming into an inheritance and we would like to put a stop on it before he gets his money. My sister hired a lawyer and for the past 6 months has done nothing but now we need it done soon as her ex is coming into a lot of money plus a house on Long Island NY. I need advise and would appreciate it if anybody could be of help. Would rather pay a flat fee than a lawyer taking one third of the money my sister would get. Is this a possibility? Again thank you very much for any help and advice you can give me.

She must obtain a $ judgment immediately. She must file as a creditor in the estate proceeding.
