Legal Question in Family Law in New York
Increase child support payments
Hello,
Thank you for taking the time to read and reply my question. I am receiving $56.00 weekly for one child since 10/2005. At that time the father was earning 24,000 a year. He remains at the same job but I don't know if his salary increased. I earn 31,000 a year. We divorced on 7/2007. Is there a possibility for an increase of payments? If so how do I go about the process?
Thanks.

Re: Increase child support payments
You would be entitled to apply for a cost of living adjustment (COLA) 24 months after the Judgment of divorce - 7/2009.
You would go about the process by contacting the intake room at the Family Court in your county.
