Legal Question in Family Law in New York

A relative of mine who lived in NY has died. He has a small property in Europe. His wife also has died. He had no children except for a daughter that his wife had from a previous marriage. Is this daughter entitled to any property of is? When someone marries in this situation does the child automatically become eligible to inherit? This daughter kept her biological father's name and now that she is married, her husband's name. Dos she have any rights to the deceased's property?
