Legal Question in Family Law in New York

interrogatories and notice to produce. what are my rights?

I'm battling child support for my son. I didn't retain a lawyer yet. My ex did. I received a letter from my ex's lawyer where he demands that I bring to his office some of my personal documents that are too personal. The case is adjourned and there was nothing during the hearing said about this documents. The lawyers' letter was not served to me and there is no any court order to produce these kind of documents except that the case was adjourned.

My question is : do I have to comply with his lawyer's demands and meet the deadline he specifies in the letter to produce the documents? Do I have a right to bring these documents on a court date to the court and not one month prior to court to his lawyer's office? Please help ASAP. Thanks you.

You are in a phase oflitigation called discovery. You can be required to produce various types of documents. At this point, I would suggest retaining an attorney.
