Legal Question in Family Law in New York

Joint custody

I live in Va and my daughter lives in NY and my ex wife has filed to get sole custody of our daughter. Is ther anything I can do to keep joint custody? I am disabled and live on limited income (social secerity) and its hard for me to ride to NY. Since I live in another state will they award her sole custody?

Re: Joint custody

Your ex will not be awarded sole custody just because you live in another state. There has to be a reason for modifying the order. If you would like to discuss this at length, please call my office and schedule a consultation. My number is 518-383-1182. Speak with Alexis.
