joint custody travel abroad

I have joint custody of my daughter. Do I need permission from my ex to take her out of the country?

Technically, legally, maybe not. The custody order from the judge should include this information. In the absence of any such references, then yes, you may.

But that does not mean it is a good idea. A judge may set up particular restrictions later if you act precipitously now.

In addition, taking a child outside the US without informing a parent who has joint custody is a very aggressive, angry action. What will be the reaction?
