Joint vehicle title transfer
My husband and I jointly own a vehicle that I wish to transfer to him in divorce , what NY forms or procedure do we follow and what other requirements do we need. I cannot remove him from my insurance until I provide proof of his own registration and insurance coverage and title transfer of the vehicle. our prompt response is needed. Thank you

To transfer title of an auto to anyone, is per the DMV (Dept of Motor Vechicles)procedures; and the transfer is subject to any liens of record.
Of Course the "new" owner to Register Title, must show the requisite insurance coverage.
However, it is NOT adviseable to transfer anything to anyone, PER YOUR DIVORCE, without first signing an agreement memorializing your agreement and understanding re the property; AND, you should not do it w/o attorney representation and possibly Court approval.
