Judge askes for Inquisition

After many court visits with my ex-wife, our house still has not been sold. My ex-wife stalls, or does not show up. She has been in contempt of court twice. This time, the judge ordered and inquisition to remove her name from the house deed so that the house could be sold without her. Please explain what an inquisition is and how it can benefit me.
