lawyer retainer
I paid a family lawyer a retainer of $5000. He filed a claim for custody and came to court with me once, then i let him go.Do i have the right to some money back and how long do i have to file a complaint ?

First, you should ask for an invoice reflecting the time he spent on your case and any costs paid. If the invoice proves that he used the entire retainer on your case, and you believe it is not fair, you can contact a local bar association in the county where he works and file a claim for fee arbitration.
