Legal Question in Family Law in New York

I need to leave my alcoholic husband of twenty years. I know longer feel safe and it has caused emotional problems in my children. He is secretive with his money and I am unemployed. I was paying credit cards through his bank account but he closed that account and opened a new one and cut me off six months ago. I am financially dependent on him and have to ask for money for food and gas. He makes a good salary as a police detective but the utility bills aren't being paid until they come to disconnect. We have also almost foreclosed on the house a few times. He keeps the money a secret and will not tell me anything about the bills or finances. He drinks heavily daily and I've reached the end.
