Do you have to be a legal guardian for your nephew to live with you and go to school where you live?

No, however, if you are not the legal guardian, the legal guardian might be required to give permission for you to enroll his/her child in that school, and there might be other things that the legal guardian will have to do so that the school is satisfied that the person with legal authority over your nephew wishes him to attend the school where you live.
