Legal Question in Family Law in New York
I am legally married in the state of new York to my wife who seems missing since October 2012. My wife showed up on international tv news with her picture as a woman missing and had been seen in Vermont. when questioned by the police in Vermont they seemed apprehensive to share information about my wife.
I have legal custody of our 7 year old daughter in default decision by the judge 2011.
I feel this has something to do with her being missing and not responding to myself or her daughter.
My question is do a husband have the right to search and locate his wife. and for the police corporate with me in locating my wife and the mother of my daughter.

Anyone has the "right" to search for any person they feel is missing. There are many cases in which that person may not want to be "found" and individuals have the right to their own privacy even from a spouse or any other family member if they are an adult. You can and probably have reported your wife as missing to the police. If the police have found her and she does not want you to know her whereabouts, then they are under no obligation to tell you.
