Legal Question in Family Law in New York

I live in Plattsburgh NY and pay child support for my 17 yr. old daughter, she wants to get married, do I have to continue paying support, when she is married?

Marriage is an emancipation event. If she gets married you can petition the court to stop your child support payments.

I agree. However, your duty to stop payment does not occur with the marriage - rather, it ceases upon order of emancipation received from the Family Court.
