Legal Question in Family Law in New York
I live in New York State and I pay child support.My ex makes $106,300 and I make 32,000.I am currently paying 100.00 a week, is that right. I also pay an extra 50.00 a week for back pay and pay intrest on back pay.Can I get the intrest to stop adding up...Also in the agreement she is able to claim 2 children on her taxes. for the last 5 yearsCan I get that change and how diffilcult would that be.

Actually, for 2 children, you should be paying approximately $138 / week. So, $100 a week is low.
For arrears, you may be able to have the interest suspended if your spouse consents.
To claim the children on the taxes, generally the parties look to the divorce documents. If the documents are silent as to who has the deduction for the children, the law is that the custodial spouse is entitled to the deduction.
