Legal Question in Family Law in New York

long lost teenage husband

I got impulsively married in NYC in 1999, when I was 19 years old. I haven't seen or herad from the boy I married in 7 years. He lives in the UK and is a european citizen. I do not know how to get in touch with him, nor do I want to. I have met someone I would like to marry for real now, and I am engaged...What would be the easiest way of going about a divorce for such a strange situation?

Re: long lost teenage husband

You asked about how to have one marriage ended so that you may begin another.

I wish I could give a simple answer. And I am willing to bet no on this board will have an answer either. What I suggest is that you speak with a family law attorney who can do the reaserch for you. You are correct that you need to exit the first marriage before entering the next.

Good luck,
