Legal Question in Family Law in New York

how long do you wait for a supreme court decision after a trial

Divorce final five years ago. Currently waiting equitable distribution settlment. Attorney paid for services has not acted on many serious legal issues resulting in supreme court decisions. What is my recourse after supremen court judge declarred in writing (blue declaration) his findings and former husband has not complied. The legal system is timeless with no ongoing action. My equity has been tied up over five years. Where is the justice system. Where can I turn.

Re: how long do you wait for a supreme court decision after a trial

Your case is taking way too long. Something is not right here.

Suggest you send your attorney a certified mail letter requesting an explanation.

Then seek a second opinion from an experienced matrimonial attorney.

Hope this helps.
