Legal Question in Family Law in New York

Maintenance

i began making maintenace payments as soon as i received a

copy of the ''judges decision after trial''. I received the judges

''Final decision 6 months later. The amount was exactly the same.

I hoping that the month i starting making payments is what counts

considering my spouse accepted the payment. Is this correct?
