Legal Question in Family Law in New York

Is possible to make an postnuptal agreement without lawyer?

My husband and I decided to make a agreement between us and sign it in front of a notary pablic and have it notarized and also there will be 2 witnesses, who will sign in that agreement too. And also can you give me any link or websites where i can see and learn about how to make or write the post nuptal agreement.

Will that count as a legal binding? Can i make a post nuptal agreement without an attorney? If I can, Can I add child support and allimony if we get divorce or separation?

I LIVE IN NEW YORK AND IT'S POST NUPTAL. NOT PRENUPTAL.

WE BEEN MARRIED 3 YEARS. WE HAVE A CHILD. We had marital problems, that's why I am doing this. I wanted to take separation from him, but he wants a chance, which I gave him so many times in 3 years. But If dojng it make this marriage works, I like to give it a try too...........................

Q. Is possible to make an postnuptal agreement without lawyer?

A. Yes, although it probably is not a smart thing to do. Make sure that the notary signs an acknowledgment.

I agree, it is possible but it probably will not be sufficient to sustain legal scrutiny. You should each retain competent counsel to proyect the rights of yourselves and your child. saving money today will cost you much more tomorrow.
