Legal Question in Family Law in New York

marraige

I presented a question before but gave the wrong email account. Here is my question again

A person divorce was finalized in one state and they got married again in another state but did not reveal anything about the previous divorced marraige when the license for the second marraige was obtained. so their status was put as single. But the second marraige took place after the divorce was finalized. Is the second marraige considered a legal marraige because the divorce was finalized from the first marraige before the second marraige took place but just not revealed.

Re: marraige

As long as the first marriage was actually terminated before the second marriage took place, the second marriage is valid.

Marriage is valid BUT

Marriage is valid generally.

It may be voidable if you are second spouse and did not know of first divorce.

This would only be true if it can be shown that the reliance on the information that the husband was not previously married had some damaging effect on you (ie, religiously or mentally.)
