Legal Question in Family Law in New York

marriage

if i am legally married to two different people how do i have both of the marriages annulled or divorced. how do i resolve this matter in new york city/state? please advise

You have a problem because being married to two or more people at the same time is a crime.

By operation of law the second marriage is illegal and therefore a nullity. You would have to serve and file papers demonstrating that you were married at the time you entered into your second marriage. There should be no issue of alimony/maintenance or equitable distribution since the marriage was not legal.

Concerning the first marriage, you would have to commence a divorce proceeding, presumably based on the grounds of abandonment. Unlike the second marriage, the first marriage was legal so you would have to account for alimony/maintenance and equitable distribution.
