Legal Question in Family Law in New York

I got married to a Marine in 2008. He refuses to give me a divorce and the money I'm required as his spouse. The USMC is not helping me at all. I am currently working towards my Bachelors degree in Criminal Justice in a school in Potsdam, NY. It is very difficult since I am upstate and he is in North Carolina. What do you suggest I do to finally get this divorce and the money he is required to give me?

A two year marriage to a Marine does not yield any long term benefits absent children born of the marriage.

If the husband is on active duty, you have to wait to obtain a divorce. If not, you may not have jurisdiction in New York (it depends on where you were married and how long you have lived in New York). Since I do not practice law in North Carolina, you would have to resubmit the question to another lawyer that practices in that jurisdiction.
