Legal Question in Family Law in New York

I am getting married few weeks but my child's father refuses to let my child participate in the wedding ceremony. What are my options -Can he keep our child from participating in the wedding? Do I need a court order b/c we are not in the court system; i.e child support?

Although it's not apparent from the question I am assuming the "child's father" and your fiance are separate men. If there is no formal court grant of custody to you or your child's father, then you are technically joint legal custodians for the time being. Generally speaking, no, he cannot dictate whether your son attends the wedding. However your question is not clear and leaves out a lot of relevant facts that would need to be considered by myself or any other competent attorney who may advise you.

If the wedding is coming up soon, I strongly advise you to consult with an attorney if you cannot resolve this.
