Legal Question in Family Law in New York

Military divorce in N.Y.

My roommate is filing for divorce in the state of New York, uncontested. His wife is army and he is navy, and he is being stationed in Connecticut in six months or less. We were wondering how long the process will take. He said the papers have already been filed.

It depends on the Court. Usually, the process is 4 to 6 weeks. However, I know of one court that the process may be several months.
