Legal Question in Family Law in New York
A mothers rights while having Full Custody
My sister has full custody of her daughter. When she recieved custody and they ruled his visitation rights, she was able to say things she didn't want to happen while the father visited the daughter. He still goes against the mothers wishes, and he says there is nothing she can do about it. He has even overdosed the baby with cold medicine! Is there something she can do about this? The baby's law guardian just says, wait until court. Is there something she can do to hurry the situation?

Re: A mothers rights while having Full Custody
Yes, she can file an "Order to Show Cause". In the petition she requests that he have supervised visitation only until further order of the court.
However, if the LG does not agree, the Judge may not grant it so she should discuss with the LG and then decide.
