Legal Question in Family Law in New York

I moved to New York from Florida. I need to have my child support moved to New York but I cannot afford an attorney. What are my options?

Contact your county's bar association-they should be familiar with what org handles which program. For example, the Suffolk County, on Long Island, the Suffolk County Bar Assn. would tell you that Legal Aid handles mostly crim cases, Touro Law School has clinics that took over the PB Elder Law and PB Foreclosure Law programs (in conjunction with the Suffolk Bar Assn and the Hon Spinner), Nassau/Suffolk Law Services does everything else, pretty much. Also, new Pro Bono clinics (such as for Veterans) are created constantly as the economy sinks deeper and those of us in the Suffolk Cty Bar realize we have to get more volunteers.
