Legal Question in Family Law in New York

moving out of state

My daughter's mother has custody. I have visitation two days a week. She has been posting blogs about ''getting the hell out of NY.'' Is she able to move without going to court? In court, am I able to do anything to stop her from moving far away?

Re: moving out of state

It first depends on what the custody order says about relocation; next, one would consider the effect that relocation whould have on your time with the child. Consult an attorney as soon as possible to discuss the details of your situation and to get proper advice.
