Legal Question in Family Law in New York
moving out of state
my husband and I have finalized our divorce, but me and my daughter are moving out of the state to be closer to my family due to my health issue, my husband (ex) is ok with the move, but in the divorce decree it's state that Im not allow to live further than 40 miles from my ex so that he can have access to see our daughter. Even though he's ok with us moving outer state. What can I do to protect myself if one day he becomes upset and tries to use this decree against me.

Re: moving out of state
You need him to sign a consent order that modifies that part of the divorce.
Re: moving out of state
You could just send him letter, with mail delivery confirmation, thanking him for consenting to your moving wherever you are moving.
Call me if you like.
