Legal Question in Family Law in New York
non-reletive visitation
How can a man petetion me into family court for visitation to my 10 year old son?
This man is gay, drug abuser and has been harrasing me for years. He made it a point to get close to my child after being introduced to me when I was pregnant by my ex-husband. After he got to know us all we found out a few bad things about his lifestyle. He also has Aids. He turned me int child-protective. He may kidnap my child to hurt me and my son. I am terrified. Please contact me to let me know what else I can do to prevent this crazy man from getting visitation.

Keep in mind: Anybody can ask for anything in court. That doesn't mean that person has a prayer of getting what s/he asked for.
I would suggest you hire an attorney. If you can't afford one, ask the court about the assigned counsel program. If you are afraid of this man, you should also file for an order of protection. This is not something you should deal with alone.

Get an order of protection against him.
