In NY if one party of a divorce case does not want the divorce and refuses to sign papers does the divorce not become finally??
What then happens?

In New York that is a default and the moving party can be divorced.

The above answers do not mention one crucial detail: Default can only occur if the defendant has been personally (and legally) served.
