Legal Question in Family Law in New York
Order of Protection
I have an order of protection for my children and I. I have written a letter to the judge to have it dropped/modified so as my children and I may contact their father. I had him over to my house, the sherrifs found out and arrested him at 3 am. They told me they would probably be back to arrest me with contempt of endangering the welfare of a child. First can they do this and second what happens to me if they do do this.

Re: Order of Protection
Yes, they can do this. If he is a danger to your children and you allow him around them, they can be taken from you and placed with a relative or foster care.
If it was necesary for you to get this "Protection" from the court, what has changed to suddenly make him not a danger? Probably not much.
