Re: Order of protection

You can file a family offense petition against a family member under Article 8 of the Family Court Act by going the Family Court in your county. Upon good cause shown to the judge, you may receive an ex parte temporary order of protection that would ordinarily be kept in place until the petition is heard. Feel free to call our office to discuss the particulars of your case.

The proper form can be found at the clerk's desk in your county's family court.

Should you like to discuss this or any other legal matter, you can e-mail me for more information about low cost face-to-face, on-line, or a telephone consultation with a lawyer in our office.
