Legal Question in Family Law in New York

order of protection

Does it make it a faulty instrument if there are no distance parameters. In my order of protection there is no provision for how far away I must stay from my ex-wife. Please help!!!

Re: order of protection

You should have an attorney review the order and explain it to you as soon as possible.

However, you can interpret the order to mean what it says - if it tells you to "stay away", without a specified distance, I would advise you to stay far away, certainly not within eyesight.

Feel free to call our office if you have any questions.
