Papers Served in a Public Place
My ex-girlfriend served me child support papers outside in front of a library by her friend with her present. I thought a person can only be served at their Abode (home) or place of business and that if you are one the parties in the action, you can not be a part of the serving process. If any of this is true, should I do anything or go to court anyways and see if I can have it thrown out for improper service? Thank-you!

Re: Papers Served in a Public Place
you can be served anywhere( except the courthouse) If there was someone else with the party service is probably ok You are right to appear.
You should consult an attorney to protect your rights
