Parental/grandparents rights

1- Can a mother of a child sign off her parentla right to her mother (child's grandmother) through a legal contract?

2-If yes, can the biological father revoke it and attain full custody of child?

3- Is it a long & expensive process?

1. A contract would not be the most appropriate way to handle turning over responsibility for raising a child to a grandparent.

2. The biological father's rights with regard to the child would be a factor in the process. However, if the father has already given up his rights, whether formally or by abandonment, would be an issue that needs detailed exploration.

3. Not necessarily - but without more information, it's hard to determine whether this can be handled routinely and inexpensively, or whether it may run into opposition, which drives up the cost.
