Can I ask for a paternity test for my son who is 18yr and may be to afraid to do so.

I am not completely sure what your question is. If you asking if you can request a paternity test for a child he might be the father of, the answer is no, you do not have standing to bring this action. If you are asking about a paternity test to determine your son's father, again, no you do not have standing for that action either. After your son turns 18, he is an adult and a parent can intervene on a very limited basis and neither of these circumstances are within that exception.
