do i have to pay back child support if I have custody of my child for five years now?

If you did not bring a petition to Family Court or make a motion in Supreme Court to modify the child support then you are required to pay all back child support regardless of where your child lived. Only a court of competent jurisdiction can modify a child support order, you can not just by changing the parent with whom the child lives.
