Legal Question in Family Law in New York

paying for braces?

i've been paying child support for the past 3yrs that's when i found out i had a 6yr old child?? long story...well the mother wants to take me to court again because she says i need to help her pay for braces the child needs... is that consider a medical bill??can the judge make me pay for that? how often can the mother take me back to court? the last time i went to court i didn't have a lawyer should i get one now?

Yes, you should have an attorney to assist you in this or you are leaving yourself with no protection what so ever. Yes, braces are considered medical and you are liable for a percentage of the costs.
