Legal Question in Family Law in New York

We are paying child support on my husband's 18 year old daughter. She lives with her mother, and has now become pregnant. The ex thinks we will be paying for this baby as well. What kind of legal recourse do we have? The ex has no control, and has set no boundaries with her daughter. We all live in New York State, if that has any bearing.

You will not be paying for the baby.

Your obligation to your daughter is not going to change due to the baby. Your responsibility is to support your daughter, the father of the child is responsible for it. You might want to attempt to influence your daughter to make sure she gets support from the father of the child.

If you daughter is living with either you or your ex then you might be paying for the child regardless of the legal obligation.
