Legal Question in Family Law in New York

I am paying support on my stepchild. Once I am divorced from the child's mother and am no longer a stepparent to said child will I still be held responsible for support even if I am not child's biological father?

First, why are you paying child support for the stepchild, do you have a court order or some other legal requirement to pay child support for a child that is not your own?

Second, if you do not, then you can stop now and you can not be required, unless a court tells you otherwise, to pay child support even after you divorce the child's mother.
